The Jewish Curaçao natives have a rich history, starting from 1634. During the Jewish Heritage Tour, you’ll visit the oldest Synagogue in the Western Hemisphere and the museum connected to it. Then, we will move on to historical highlights in Willemstad, mainly Punda and Scharloo, where you can learn about the history of the prominent Jewish families who lived there and had businesses in the capital city. We will continue to the Liquor factory, one of the oldest Jewish businesses on the island. Here, the famous Blue Curaçao is produced!
Next, your guide will show you the new Ashkenazi Jewish Synagogue, where you can admire the modern architecture. We will continue the tour by visiting the Jewish museum at Rooi Catootje, the Mongui Maduro Museum. This location also has a library with interesting books and historical data. In conclusion, we will visit one of the most iconic Jewish cemeteries on the island. Tour duration: 3 hours
